VVPVA Community

In short

VVPVA is a community organisation with member families across Gujarat and beyond. I built the system behind its mobile app and the admin panel its committee uses to run it.

The problem

The community wanted one trusted place where members could find each other, support each other's businesses, hear about events and share job openings. That needed a mobile app for members, and a simple way for a volunteer committee to keep it accurate and safe.

What I built

The server that powers the mobile app, and a web-based admin panel for the committee.

How it works

1. 1Members sign up in the app with their phone number and a one-time code. The head of each family registers the family and adds its members.
2. 2New families wait for the committee to approve them, so only real members get in.
3. 3Members list their businesses, products and services, post jobs, share updates and follow community events.
4. 4Everything can be searched by location, from country and state down to city and village.
5. 5From the admin panel, the committee approves members and events, manages the business directory, moderates posts and sends notifications to members' phones.

The result

The committee runs the whole community app, from member approvals to events and jobs, from one panel, while members use the mobile app day to day.

Behind the scenes

A NestJS server on MongoDB, with Firebase for phone sign-in and push notifications. The admin panel is built with React. The system is versioned, so older copies of the mobile app keep working while members update.
